TRAINS, PLANES & SUBMARINES: Our Transportation FAQ
EXACTLY WHERE ARE YOU?
We are about 100 feet south of the Church & Chicago intersection, across the street from Whole Foods.
WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
There is a public garage on Church Street, just east of Chicago Avenue. The first hour is free and costs $2/hour after. It used to be free if you arrived after 6, but that no longer is true. Sunday is still free. You can also enter on Clark Street, which is one block north of Church.
WHAT ABOUT STREET PARKING?
Reality compels me to state that there is a limited amount of street parking in Evanston. And beware: the metered spots are carefully watched by the constabulary whose sole function is issuing parking tickets. Most of the meters are in force until 9 PM other than on Sundays.
WHICH TRAIN EXITS DO I USE?
The Metra & Evanston "L" both stop at Davis Street. To get to Dave's Italian Kitchen, walk about 1/4 block north to Church Street and then about 3 1/2 blocks east to Chicago Avenue.
WHERE CAN I LAND MY HELICOPTER?
We're working on rooftop parking--stay tuned for further info.
I JUST STOLE A SUBMARINE FROM ONE OF THE REPUBLICS CARVED FROM THE FORMER USSR. WHERE DO I DOCK IT?
The closest boat ramp is at Church Street, two blocks east of the restaurant. But remember, when dining at Dave's Italian Kitchen, please turn off your nuclear power.
